Just as explosives experts have cast doubt om the claim that the Oklahoma city bombing could have possibly been a truck bomb, so too does it seem highly unlikely that a truck parked in the compound could cause the level of destruction at Nairobi.
The building which was attacked in Dar Es Salaam had been an Israeli compound, until the Jews were evicted following the suspension of diplomatic relations between Tanzania and Israel following the 1973 war, the truck carrying the bomb was used to deliver fresh water to the embassy, and had been parked in the embassy compound.
There were hardly any witnesses to the Nairobi blast, since everyone close enough to have seen anything was killed, an Israeli Defense Force team was first on the scene allegedly to search for survivors in the rubble of the building.

The US launched an immediate assault on the Al Shifa pharmaceutical complex at Khartoum in the Sudan, which had a UN approved contract to supply veterinary medicine to Iraq, alleging that this plant was involved in the production of chemical weapons.
The Washington Post reported that the US attacks on Al-Shifa complex and alleged Afghan training camps, had been planned the highest level months before the attacks on the embassies.

Lee Hamilton was to become co chairman of the 9/11 commission.
